GTA 6 Release Date Cripples Reddit Website | Shit Casual
Fans of GTA 6 got a small surprise tonight when the announcement for the release date of the up-coming game came slightly earlier than expected.
The video confirms that although the release date for GTA 6 was scheduled to be between 2017 and 2018, the company making the game have announced that it is expected to drop closer to the end of 2016.
It is also thought that the game may be called GTA On-Line and if this is the case, then a later release date of 2027 is expected due to the vast amount of patching that the game will require.
The game is expected to be downloadable on steam, taking approximately 27 years to fully download and having another 2 and a half months of updates.
There is some confusion behind the storyline however, with a user on Reddit claiming that the protagonist of the storyline will in-fact be a man searching for his long lost cat and he goes insane looking for her while working for a government agency.
Such a comment on Reddit crashed the site globally this morning with users reporting that a spike in “GTA 6 cat story” searches on Google had overloaded some of the web searches servers too.
Reddit put out a statement on its twitter about the issues with a GTA 6 release date traffic surge:
The GTA 6 cat incident has sent our servers into meltdown, we are currently working on this issue and will have the problem resolved shortly.
Some users took to Twitter to deal with the issue, which has apparently not been helped with the release of the video above.
